What Is SlabCraft?
SlabCraft is an independent UK company making slab guards for graded cards. A slab guard is a frame that fits around the outside of a graded slab, adding an extra layer of protection against knocks, scratches and everyday handling, and giving the slab a finished look on a shelf or show table.
What makes SlabCraft different is how they're made. Every guard is 3D printed to order in PLA-based filament and designed as a precise fit for Ace Grading slabs, so it sits snugly without rattling around. They're light, low-flex and sturdy, and because each one is made to order, you choose exactly how it looks.
The Guards

Full Art Guard
SlabCraft designs a graphic for your specific card, using your Ace certification number, and prints it onto your chosen base colour. The result carries the card's artwork out across the whole guard.

Standard Colour Guard
A clean, plain guard in a single colour. SlabCraft currently offers 14 colours, from black and white to sea green, purple and yellow, so you can match a card, a set, or your whole collection.
Custom Art Guard
SlabCraft has also announced a Custom Art Guard, where you supply your own artwork and they print it. It isn't available to order yet, but they've already published their file requirements (covered in the ordering section below) so you can get a design ready.
Why We Rate It
We've already written about why we rate Ace Grading's labels: each one is illustrated by real artists, not generated by AI, and it's a big part of what makes an Ace slab special. SlabCraft's Full Art guards take that idea further. Instead of the artwork stopping at the edge of the card, it carries on right across the guard, so the whole slab becomes one piece of art.
An Ace label and a SlabCraft Full Art guard genuinely complement each other. For a card you're proud of, it's one of the best-looking ways to display it we've seen, and it's protected at the same time.
How to Order
Full Art Guard
- Find your Ace certification number. It's printed on the slab's label, underneath the grade.
- Optional but useful: look your card up on Ace Grading's website using that certification number, and save the slab image to your device.
- On the SlabCraft website, choose the Full Art guard and pick a base colour. If you saved your slab image, add it using the Ace Slab Upload option to see how each colour looks around your card. This preview is for choosing a colour only; it won't show the finished artwork.
- Select the trading card game, then enter your Ace certification number, card name and card number.
- Enter TRINITY at checkout for 5% off.
- SlabCraft creates your artwork once the order is placed. If you'd rather see it first, message them through their contact form before ordering, with your certification number, and they'll send a mockup (they aim to within 48 hours).
Standard Colour Guard
- Choose the Standard guard and pick one of the 14 colours. You can use the Ace Slab Upload option here too, to preview colours around your slab.
- Enter TRINITY at checkout for 5% off.
Custom Art Guard (when it launches)
SlabCraft has published the artwork requirements ahead of launch. In short:
- Start from SlabCraft's own design template (PDF or PNG), available in their How To Guide.
- Supply a PNG or JPEG at 1220 × 1990 pixels, ideally at 300 DPI, and no bigger than 8MB.
- The template marks an area in red that won't be visible on the finished guard, so keep anything important out of it.
- SlabCraft reserves the right to refuse offensive or inappropriate images; affected orders are cancelled and refunded.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SlabCraft discount code?
The code is TRINITY. Enter it at checkout on the SlabCraft website for 5% off your slab guards.
Does the code work on both Standard and Full Art guards?
Yes. TRINITY gives 5% off SlabCraft's slab guards, whether you choose a plain Standard Colour Guard or a Full Art Guard.
Which graded slabs do SlabCraft guards fit?
SlabCraft's guards are currently made to fit Ace Grading slabs. Support for other grading companies is listed on SlabCraft's roadmap, so check their website for the latest.
Can I see the Full Art design before I order?
The Full Art graphic is created after you order and isn't shown on the product page. If you'd like to see it first, contact SlabCraft through their contact form with your Ace certification number and they'll send a mockup, which they aim to do within 48 hours.
What are SlabCraft guards made from?
They're 3D printed to order in PLA-based filament. SlabCraft lists PLA+ for the Full Art guard and PLA for the Standard guard, both chosen to keep the guard light while protecting the slab from knocks, scratches and everyday handling.
Is SlabCraft part of Ace Grading UK?
No. SlabCraft and Ace Grading UK are two separate, independent companies. SlabCraft makes guards designed to fit Ace Grading slabs, but it isn't owned by or part of Ace Grading UK, and Ace Grading UK doesn't make SlabCraft's guards. We partner with each of them separately.
Why do SlabCraft and Ace Grading UK both use the code TRINITY?
TRINITY is simply our partner code name, so it's easy to remember. Each company has set it up separately on its own website, and each code only works at its own company's checkout: on SlabCraft it gives 5% off slab guards, and on Ace Grading UK it gives 5% off grading submissions (see our Ace Grading code page).
Does Trinity Cards TCG earn anything from this code?
Yes. We're an official affiliate partner of SlabCraft and earn a small commission when TRINITY or our SlabCraft links are used, at no extra cost to you.
SlabCraft and Ace Grading UK are two separate companies
SlabCraft is not part of Ace Grading UK, and Ace Grading UK is not part of SlabCraft. They're independent businesses: SlabCraft makes guards designed to fit Ace Grading slabs, and Trinity Cards TCG partners with each company separately. For questions about a guard order, contact SlabCraft. For anything about grading, contact Ace Grading UK.
